It is a great joy to share that Pete Hopkins has been appointed as Assistant Curate at St Paul’s, to be ordained deacon, God willing, at St Paul’s Cathedral on 2nd July.

Pete comes to us having trained for ordination at St Mellitus College. He was born and raised in Bognor Regis, and read Philosophy and Languages at Kings College London. Before ordination training he worked as a pastoral assistant at St Luke's Kentish Town and also worked for the charity World Vision. He is married to Ingridi, and they have a daughter, Lucy. In his spare time Pete enjoys any kind of outdoor pursuits or water-sports and playing music. Pete and Ingridi also love all the great London art galleries and museums!

As many of you will be aware, we were not expecting to be receiving a curate this year, so this is unexpectedly good news for St Paul’s! Earlier in the year the decision was made to rent out St Paul’s Lodge, the house normally used for curates. Consequently, Pete and his family will live in accommodation provided by the Diocese for the first year of his curacy, before moving into St Paul’s Lodge when it becomes available.

We look forward enormously to welcoming Pete, Ingridi and Lucy in July. Please pray for Pete as he prepares to be ordained, and for his family as they prepare to move. And pray too for the family of faith here at St Paul’s, that together we may continue to grow faith in Winchmore Hill, and love and serve the Lord who calls us to follow him.
